‘Frustrated’ Redkanpp all but gives up hope of signing Beckham for Tottenham stint

London, Jan 15 (ANI): Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has given the clearest hint that he will ditch plans to sign ace midfielder David Beckham.
He is frustrated because Beckham’s team LA Galaxy has delayed the midfielder registering with the Premier League.
Redknapp admitted he thought Beckham would be on loan at White Hart Lane until the end of the season when the proposal was put to him, not until the middle of March.
“I would have Beckham to play, if he could have come to the end of the season,” The Sun quoted him, as saying.
“I didn’t know it was only going to be two months at best. I thought when it was mentioned, yeah, to the end of the season, it would be good,” Redknapp said.
“Then two months becomes a month, if you’ve got permission. By the time he’s fit, to throw him in for three to four games would be tough,” he said.
Beckham is so keen to play in the Premier league that he is even ready to take a pay cut for a three-month loan move to Tottenham.
If the deal between Beckham and Tottenham Hotspur goes through, it would be the first time that the 35-year-old will be playing for an English club since he left Manchester United to join Real Madrid in 2003. (ANI)
