fredIowa, Apr 28, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Fred Hoiberg has been announced as the newly hired coach of the Iowa State University. The coach formerly played with the Cyclones themselves. The appointment has been sort of a homecoming for the coach, who had once been a player with the Iowa State University team, before he had become a player with the National Basketball Association. His appointment with the Iowa State University, however, has been something of a whirlwind affair, and came as a surprise to most observers. The announcement was made late in the evening of Tuesday, right after the negotiations had been done with and the deal completed.

According to observers, the appointment of Fred Hoiberg may turn out to be either too good for the team, or very bad, It is possible that the coach, who had played 10 seasons with the NBA, will turn out to be highly beneficial for the team, or he may prove to be of no use at all. With this point of view, observers feel that the hiring of Fred Hoiberg has been purely a gamble in the part of the Iowa State University, which may either bring in great luck or may just fail to bring any at all.

For many of the observers, the decision of the Iowa State University to replace their former coach Greg McDermott was taken in order to ensure that they fare better than they have been in the recent past, which has been nowhere near spectacular. In fact, this is the reason that many state as being behind Greg McDermott’s decision to take up the offer provided by Creighton, leaving his native University.
