Frank Mir Registers A Stunning Victory Against Cheick Kongo At UFC 107

Frank MirMemphis, Tenn, Dec.13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) American martial arts fighter Frank Mir gave a scintillating performance during his clash against Cheick Kongo at the UFC 107 on Saturday, which ensured his victory in the much anticipated encounter. The much acclaimed fighter earned victory in just about over a minute at 1:12 of round 1, when he defeated his French opponent by a guillotine choke.

The French fighter, who was not very pleased with the kind of comments Frank Mir had made prior to their encounter, initially chased his opponent in the ring but that did not last for long. Soon, the former heavyweight champion took control of the bout as he came out with his aggressive self. Frank Mir thrashed his opponent to the ground and the French fighter did not recover from the attack since then. The 30 year old fighter continued to put pressure on his French opponent and forced him into a submission. Although Cheick Kongo fought for as long as he could, his attempts went in vain as the former heavyweight champion seemed invincible throughout the clash. Following his victory, Frank Mir added that he has been working really hard to emerge as the ultimate winner in the ring. Moreover, since his defeat at the UFC 100 to Brock Lesnar, the reputed fighter is said to have serious measures for weight training and appeared at the fight at 265 lbs.

Frank Mir is won the Ultimate Fighting Championship two times in the past. However, the much acclaimed fighter is keeping his hopes high for a probable clash with Brock Lesnar, who is presently not keeping well due to his illness.
