Karachi, May 4(ANI): Former Pakistan cricketers have taken the selection committee to task for excluding competent players like leg-spinner Danish Kaneria and wicket- keeper Adnan Akmal from the 15- memeber Test squad going to take on West Indies, according to Daily Times reports.

A former chief selector, Salahuddin Ahmed said “I think Kaneria is a world class spinner and deserved a place in the Tests,” said Ahmed.

Another former chief selector Iqbal Qasim said that Pakistan’s selections had been inconsistent.

Former leg-spinner Abdul Qadir also targeted the selectors for dropping Adnan, saying that PCB ought to give reasons for his omission.

Kaneria has also expressed his anger over his exclusion for the forthcoming series. “I can’t understand why they have dropped me after I was cleared by the Essex police and that letter of clearance has been submitted to the PCB.”ANI)
