Carlsbad, Oct 19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) This surely has been one hell of a week for former NFL player Junior Seau. Just after being released on bail after being arrested over charges of domestic violence, the ex-Miami Dolphins player found himself receiving treatment at a medical facility following an accident in which he drove his car over a cliff near Carlsbad, California.
The 12-time Pro Bowl linebacker was behind the wheels of his Cadillac sports utility vehicle on Monday morning when the mishap took place. The football star was driving the car when it suddenly left the road and plunged down into the embankment below, sustaining injuries which are considered to be non life-threatening. Following the accident, Junior Seau was immediately taken to the Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla where preliminary treatment was administered to him. In the meanwhile, Carlsbad police officials have stated that preliminary probe reveals that the vehicle lost its path on the roadway and tumbled over the cliff, landing in the beach below. However, as of now authorities have declined to shed any light regarding whether the accident was in any way linked to Junior Seau’s detention which took place earlier on.
The much acclaimed NFL player was taken into custody on Sunday after his live-in girlfriend accused him of physically assaulting her during an altercation at their house in Oceanside. Junior Seau was detained by the cops about two hours after they arrived at his home and the football star was taken to the Vista Detention Facility where he was later released on bail.
