Ray WilliamsJuly 4, (THAINDIAN NEWS) As players during the ongoing NBA Free Agency period strike million dollars deals with teams, a reputed media source has come up with a sad story of former NBA player who had in his career been part of teams like Boston Celtics, New York Knicks and many others. The story that was recently published says that Ray Williams after 23 years of his NBA career is standing homeless, sleeping in a car and drinking kitchen soup.

Ray Williams had during his career been part of the 1985 Boston Celtic team that went to the NBA finals. He had also played a crucial role in all the teams he had been associated with and had a career average of around 20. Ray Williams was reportedly earned around $2 million while playing in NBA from 1977 to 1987. The NBA legends foundation gave him $12,000 however the player could not hold on to any of his money.

It is the sheer luck of the player that he could not hold on to the asset he made during his career. Ray Williams the new source reports did not fall prey to alcohol, drug or gambling in his life but failed perhaps in money management. The player was made homeless after the widow of the owner who leased Ray Williams a condominium on lease-to-own contract backed out of the contract after the death of the owner. At present he sleeps inside a car that is in a dilapidated condition and adjusts himself within it with tattered towels under his neck for a cushion. Although there is no particular instance in his life that has led to his downfall, the whole situation has gone against him.
