Former New Orleans Saints Linebacker Rickey Jackson Enters Hall Of Fame

Canton, Ohio, Aug 8, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Former New Orleans Saints linebacker Rickey Jackson was one of the seven players who were honored with the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday night. The recognition conferred on the highly-acclaimed former linebacker would be written with golden words on the pages of history as he became the first New Orleans Saints player to have been conferred with the much-coveted award.
The large number of fans of the 52-year-old former New Orleans Saints player were surely in for a huge treat when Rickey Jackson’s name was announced during the enshrinement ceremony at the Fawcett Stadium on Saturday and he went on stage to collect the Hall of Fame award. This was surely a highly emotional moment for the team as well as the fans of the New Orleans Saints when Rickey Jackson was finally inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The former linebacker delivered a powerful acceptance speech in which he reiterated time and again how much he loved his hometown Pahokee. During the ceremony, Rickey Jackson also went on to pay tribute to the New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson and thanked him for keeping the team in New Orleans after it was ravaged by Hurricane Katrina. At the same time, the former player also urged the National Football League to keep away from any labor stoppages.
Rickey Jackson played in NFL for 15 seasons and remained associated with the New Orleans Saints for 13 long seasons. During his illustrious career, the celebrated player gradually earned recognition as one of the most versatile linebackers in the history of NFL.
