Former NBA Player Manute Bol Dead

June 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The 7-foot-7 former basketball player Manute Bol, who had also been involved with many peace restoring activities in his homeland Sudan died on Saturday at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.
The spokeswoman of the hospital confirmed the new of the death of Manute Bol but did not state the exact cause of the death of the player. However, according to some media sources an associate of Manute Bol has mentioned that the former player as being treated for some serious kidney disorder and also for some painful skin problems.
Manute Bol is considered as one of the best shot blockers in the history of the National Basketball Association of America. His height played a key role in his success as a shot blocker and in his 10 seasons with the NBA, Manute Bol had played for many teams.
However he would not only be remembered fondly for the contribution he had made in the field of the American Basketball but also for being a human being who had always tried to make the world a better place to live in. On Saturday as the player breathed his last, Ed Stefanski the president and the general manager of the Philadelphia 76ers voiced that Manute Bol was one such person who was always giving up himself “through his generosity and humanitarian efforts in order to make the world around him a much better place”.
Manute Bol joined the National Basketball Association in 1985 and was able to create a coolie record with his average stops of five shots per game. He managed a total of 397 stops for the first season. Manute Bol stands tall with his 2,086 in the 14th position on the NBA’s career list.
