Former Major League Pitcher Jeriome Robertson Dies

game1Visalia, Jun 2, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The former American Major League baseball pitcher Jeriome Robertson died on Saturday following a motorcycle accident. The California Highway patrol has mentioned to the media sources that the player lost control of his motorcycle which then crashed. He died at the spot reportedly. Jeriome Robertson was 33 years old.

The death of Jeriome Robertson who has to his credit 15 wins has left the baseball fraternity shocked. After learning the news of the death of the former pitcher many close friends and associates have expressed their sorrow on the player’s demise. Houston Astros’s star Lance Berkman when asked about the deceased player Jeriome Robertson said that he is really saddened by the news and added that is it no less of a tragedy. He remembered Jeriome Robertson as player who had won 15 games for the team. He mentioned that “That’s what I remember about him that year”. He added that while he was strong and made big steps in his career under the Houston team, when the team traded him the player disappeared from the very “face of the earth”.

Jeriome Robertson went on to become part of the history of the Houston Astros team when in a year the left-hand pitcher went for 15-9 with an ERA of 5.10. He was then traded to the Cleveland team as the Houston Astros signed Roger Clemens and Andy Pettitte. He played his last Major league baseball game back in July 2004 when got ejected out of the game for hitting Magglio Ordonez with his final pitch. He then went on to play the minors for the New York Mets and Cincinnati Reds.
