Dec.14, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Fred Rouse, the wide receiver of Concordia College was featured in the ESPN’ show “Outside the Lines” in an episode that was aired on Sunday. The former wide receiver of the Florida State appeared in an interview with Brenda Monk, where he discussed details relating to the present standards and condition of the Florida State University’s sports department. Along with Fred Rouse, Paul Griffin [who also used to be a part of the FSU football team] was also featured in the much anticipated show.
The Florida State had sparked a controversy some time back after it’s alleged involvement in an academic fraud, where major discrepancies were found in the athletic academic support program. The Florida State was accused of admitting athletes who did not do well academically but were said to have learning disability, which in the process helped them to receive academic assistance. Moreover, according to certain reports, the Florida State officials had also requested ESPN to stop the broadcast of the show which investigates the details of the controversy.
In the show, 24 year old Fred Rouse expressed his views regarding the scandal and he emphasized that the ‘learning disability factor was just an easy way for the athletes to avoid the academic pressure and get the job done by someone else. Meanwhile, in the year 2006, FSU coach Bobby Bowden terminated the wide receiver from the football team allegedly because of his unacceptable behavior. However, Fred Rouse is known to be the only player who after finishing his high school straight away moved to NFL.

Rouse was kicked off the team for stealing a teammate’s TV and smoking marijuana. Not a very reliable source.

Obviously he did not go straight from high school to the NFL. He stated he would.

Fred Rouse is one of the least reliable sources about FSU. He got kicked off the team and now you’re going to ask him what he thinks about them. I was dissapointed with ESPN.

this POS was kicked off of UTEP’s team by Mike Price as well. ESPN dropped the ball as badly as Rouse has dropped the ball on his entire life.
