Former Catcher Darren Daulton Inducted Into Philadelphia Phillies Wall Of Fame

Aug 7, (THAINDIAN NEWS) All the fans of the former Philadelphia Phillies catcher Darren Daulton were in for a huge treat on Friday as the renowned player was inducted into the Phillies Wall of Fame. The 48-year-old former catcher who was presented his Hall of Fame jersey by none other than Steve Carlton who only had words of appreciation for the highly acclaimed player.
The honor was conferred on Darren Daulton in a ceremony that witnessed the presence of several other Wall of Famers which included Mike Schmidt as well as Jim Bunning, apart from Steve Carlton. While responding to the recognition that has been given to him, the former Philadelphia Phillies catcher looked visibly overwhelmed as he went on to say that he is still unsure whether he is actually worthy of the recognition when he looks at some of the other players who have been awarded the same honor over the years. Darren Daulton also noted that one thing that leaves him astonished even today is the extensive amount of respect that the 1993 team received among its fans, a fact that occurred to him this year while he was working for the business community in the area as well as during his radio and television commentary concerning the Phillies.
Darren Daulton who also played for the Florida Marlins during the later part of his career, is best known for his association with the Philadelphia Phillies which spanned across 17 years. The former player was the heart and soul of the 1993 Phillies team with his amazing prowess over the game. However, towards the end of his career, he was known to be plagued by injuries.
