Fort Lauderdale, Nov 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The pending case of Jim Leyritz’s street car crash, which was taken up by the court on Friday failed to reach a fixed conclusion, as the jurors emphasized that they are deadlocked in three-year-old manslaughter case. The judge has ordered for the case to be taken up once again on Saturday.
Judge Marc H. Gold said that since the trial ended in a deadlock situation, he will be resuming its deliberations on the next day. According to sources, it came up that the judge has issued a letter for the jury saying them to rethink about the case. Judge Marc H. Gold said that though they had reached to a somewhat near conclusion, but since nothing was still confirmed, it was difficult for him to give any kind of verdict. He has refused to agree on the decision which the jury members had come up with. Reports say that he ordered six jurors to go back to the jury room and think about the case very carefully. He has further said that none of them should neither interrupt each other, nor should they comment on each other’s views. According to him, every body would have an equal chance to speak his decision out. The judge strictly said that ambiguity from the side of any of the jurors may strictly lead him to pronounce the case as a mistrial.
All this clearly hints at the fact that the matter is being looked into with a very sharp insight. The jury is keenly hoping that today’s trial session should result into a fruitful outcome, without delaying the issue any further. Former baseball star Jim Leyritz has been charged with two counts of manslaughter with regard to the 2007 car crash incident.
