Footballer Cassano expected to be traded to Milan
December 18th, 2010 - 11:51 am ICT by IANS
Milan, Dec 18 (IANS/AKI) Antonio Cassano is due to join AC Milan in January after his agent agreed to terms of a three and a half-year deal with the club that will expire in 2014, according to Italian news reports. Sampdoria had been seeking to have the striker’s contract rescinded for gross misconduct after he argued with club president Riccardo Garrone in October.
Cassano has been frozen out of first-team training since the dispute, but an arbitration panel ruled that his contract could not be rescinded. Instead it ordered Sampdoria to restore him to the first-team squad Feb 1, with his wages cut by half.
However, it is expected that the Genoa club will sell Cassano to Milan before the January transfer window closes.
