Floor hockey meet for special athletes begins in Himachal
December 15th, 2010 - 10:12 am ICT by IANSShimla, Dec 15 (IANS) The national-level floor hockey championship for special athletes began in this Himachal Pradesh capital Wednesday, an organiser here said.”As many as 457 special athletes from 21 states will vie in the National Floor Hockey Championship that will conclude Dec 19,” Himachal Special Olympics Committee president Mallika Nadda told IANS.
There would be 21 men teams and 11 women teams and they would be assisted by 120 coaches. “The players above 16 years of age are participating in the event,” Nadda said.
Floor hockey is the only team sport in Special Olympics winter sports.
