Floodlights spoil IPL party at Eden Gardens

Kolkata, April 20 (IANS) Floodlights spoiled the party at the Eden Gardens when the Twenty20 Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Deccan chargers was evenly poised here Sunday. The hosts were 89 for the loss of five wickets at 16.4 overs, chasing 111, when the lights of the two tower, at 7p.m. precisely, went off.

David Hussey was batting on 21 and Laxmi Ratan Shukla was yet to open his account and a tight finish was on the cards when the ground suddenly plunged into darkness.

After 25 minutes the power breakdown was rectified and the fielders were back on the ground to finish off the exciting encounter.
