Jamaica (West Indies), Feb.3 (ANI): England all rounder Andrew Flintoff has known for several years of Andrew Strauss burning ambition to become England captain.
Freddie believes that it is now vital that the calm and calculated Strauss builds a strong rapport with the team and win the series against the Windies.
The Sun quoted Flintoff as saying: Straussy has wanted to do it for a long time. Hes a proud man, hes started well and I expect him to carry on that way. He will be in the Michael Vaughan mould rather than a Nasser Hussain. I dont expect to see him kicking dirt and shaking his head. He is a pretty calm character, very calculating in everything he does.
Flintoff supported KP as a player and captain but could not agree with his attempt to oust Moores.
Freddie liked Moores as a man and had no problem with his coaching methods.
Flintoff has missed 52 Tests since his debut in 1998, playing 72. His troublesome ankle is fine but he has suffered two side strains in eight months and the one last year kept him out for several weeks. A scan last week revealed no serious damage. (ANI)
