chirsSep 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The long wait has ultimately come to an end and after the drafting and the mini seasons, it is time for some real football and all eyes are now in search of the best on field National Football League players. Topping the Fantasy football top 200 ranking this year are lists of running backs. The first position is held by running back Chris Johnson of Tennessee Titans, followed by Adrian Peterson of Minnesota Viking and Maurice Jones-Drew of Jacksonville Jaguars. Baltimore Ravens’ Ray Rice and San Francisco 49ers’ Frank Gore sit proudly on the fourth and fifth position.

There is no denying the fact that all the above mentioned players have come forward with some great play last season and some equally impressive pre-season play. Running back Chris Johnson, the 24-year-old 5-11 and 191 pound player has a career statistics of 358 carries, 2,006 yards rush along with 14 touchdowns. The player has an average of 5.6. Minnesota Vikings’ Adrian Peterson who will be playing his fourth season had gone for 314 carries, 1,383 yards rush with an average of 4.4 and 18 touchdowns. Maurice Jones-Drew rushed a total of 1,391 yards and had 312 carries and with a touchdown of 15, the player maintains an average of 4.5. Ray Rice went for 254 carries and seven touchdowns. Rushing for 1,339 yards, Ray Rice has been able to maintain an average of 5.3. Frank Gore of San Francisco 49ers although lies in fifth position his career statistics are quite impressible. He has 229 carries, 1,120 yards rush, and average of the 4.9 with 10 touchdowns.

However, apart from these five NFL players, there are many mores who have come forward with some great pre-season play. Bret Favre is one such player who will be playing his 20th NFL season and with 285 consecutive games starts there is much more to watch.
