Los Angeles, Oct 19 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Carlson Palmer has commented for the first time since his trade-off to the Oakland Raiders. During a press briefing on Tuesday, Carlson revealed that it was time for him to move on.

That was about the only comment that he made about the move which got him in the bad books of the fans at his former club Bengals. He told the pressmen that the fact that he will be under enormous pressure to perform was not lost on him.

He said that, “I feel a tremendous burden…I went to bed last night as a retired football player. I got at text message at 4 am to get on a plane to Oakland…I understand what is expected of me … I want to come in and contribute, do whatever is required to help this team win.”

Carlson revealed that he is in the right frame of mind to play although he has just gone through a “difficult six weeks.”

The Bengals have not hidden their feeling towards Carlson. Back in July, the president of the franchise addressed a press conference saying he was furious with the quarterback for his attitude. Carlson had been demanding a move from the club since January this year.
