Feyenoord sign Janmaat on free transfer
February 1st, 2012 - 7:12 pm ICT by IANSThe Hague, Feb 1 (IANS) Dutch football club Feyenoord Rotterdam Wednesday announced the signing of Heerenveen right-back Daryl Janmaat on a free transfer.
The 22-year-old defender agreed on a contract until the middle of 2015, starting at the end of this season. Janmaat was a youth player of Feyenoord for eight years before he moved to Alles Door Oefening Den Haag. He made his professional debut for the club in 2007 and moved to Heerenveen in 2008.
“I am very happy,” Janmaat was quoted as saying by XInhua. “Feyenoord is a beautiful, new step in my career. It’s the club of my childhood.”
After Ruud Vormer (Roda JC Kerkrade) and John Goossens (NEC Nijmegen) Janmaat is the third talented Dutch player to make a free summer move to Feyenoord.
