Alex Ferguson London, Apr 10(ANI): Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed that his wife’s first reaction, on his return home from the eventful Premier League game against West Ham United last Saturday, was to inform him that striker Wayne Rooney was likely to be banned.

The Football Association suspended Rooney for two games for his foul-mouthed rant during the match at Upton Park.

Rooney was heard using the F-word twice - the first after he converted his third goal and the second when he appeared to respond to a remark made off-camera.

“She just said ‘they’ll do him’. I told her they couldn’t possibly do him for celebrating, but it turns out she was right,” the Independent quoted Ferguson, as saying.

Cathy Ferguson had been following events on television, while the United manager was serving a five-match touchline ban.

She knew precisely how ugly and unacceptable Rooney’s behaviour had looked, because it came straight through the camera lens and into her living room. (ANI)
