Ferguson to reconsider Rooney’s midfield role

London, Mar 18(ANI): Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who will begin his five-match touchline ban tomorrow, has said that he may abandon the experiment of using Wayne Rooney midfield.
“We only started playing Wayne deeper because of the injury situation before the game against Arsenal last Saturday,” the Independent quoted Ferguson, as saying.
“We were forced into trying to organize a team that gave us a chance of going through. In that particular game it worked. But Bolton are a completely different team and I may change it,” he added.
Ferguson was fined 30,000 pounds for suggesting that referee Martin Atkinson was ‘unfair’ in his decision making during the defeat to Chelsea.
A Football Association panel of four had found the Scot guilty of improper conduct and issued a three-match suspension.
The ban also triggered a previous two-game suspended ban, which dated back to 2009 when he questioned the fitness of referee Alan Wiley. (ANI)
