Alex Ferguson London, Sep 26 (ANI): Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson will ban his players from holding a Christmas party after in Wayne Rooney’s prostitute scandal came to light.

Ferguson is fed up at the hassle caused by the bashes, namely hotel damage in 2006 and a rape charge - later dropped - against Jonny Evans a year later, News of the World reports.

Club sources said Ferguson was livid to discover from the Rooney fall-out that players appeared to be ignoring his warnings about behaviour.

“It’s pretty much the end of the line for the traditional bash. In recent years it was seen as more acceptable for private functions to get the green light rather than when the players went on bar crawls in the city,” a source said.

“But Sir Alex can’t even legislate for what goes on behind closed doors. No one wants to be a killjoy but the players have a busy Christmas programme and this has been a situation of their own making,” the source added. (ANI)
