Ferguson hails Man U’s ‘golden oldies’ Scholes and Giggs

London, Aug 17(ANI): Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has paid tribute to his midfielder Paul Scholes and winger Ryan Giggs after they masterminded the club’s 3-0 victory over Newcastle at Old Trafford.”Scholes and Giggs are two players blessed with something special. I hope there is another player like them in the future. They are two players who can lift a game,” The Sun quoted Ferguson, as saying.
“Scholes proved again that he is just a master of his trade. His vision, passing range and his willingness to play is marvelous. He’s still got the appetite. When you get to that age and you retain that, then it is good for us,” he added.
Ferguson further said that he was pleased with Dimitar Berbatov and Darren Fletcher, as he wants to keep pace with free-scoring Chelsea.
“Goals could come into it in the end. Last season Chelsea won a landslide as far as goals are concerned,” he added.
Meanwhile, Newcastle rarely looked like troubling United, and manager Chris Hughton admitted that his players cannot take time adapting to life back in the Premier League.
“If there is one lesson to be learned, and one that must be learned quickly, it is that the quality of the teams in this division is so high. United were so clinical on the attack,” Hughton said.
“But we can take the positive out of this because we won’t be playing against the likes of United every week,” he added. (ANI)
