Fergie blames last minute defensive horrors for stuttering start to Premier League season

London, Sep 14(ANI): Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has slammed his defenders for the club’s stuttering start to the Premier League season.
United has dropped four points in their four League games so far, throwing away winning positions late on to draw against Fulham and Everton.
“It has been a lack of concentration in our defending. It is those last few moments,” The Sun quoted Ferguson, as saying.
“Defensively on Saturday we were very good until that very last moment,” he added.
Ferguson further said that despite conceding twice in injury-time to draw 3-3 against Everton, the team could have won the game if they had managed to be ahead ‘by a good margin’.
“We did have some fantastic chances to put the game well to bed. We could have increased our goal tally by a good margin. That is indicative of this particular type of team,” Ferguson said.
“They play great football, create great openings and great opportunities and they are a bit wasteful. That has been the case in all our games this season and a few of them last year.”
“Those last moments in games when we have been in front shouldn’t happen again. We have been burnt twice,” he added. (ANI)
