Fennell satisfied with Commonwealth Games preparations: Bhanot

New Delhi, Oct 10 (IANS) Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) chief Michael Fennell, who last month raised doubts about the preparations for the 2010 Games here, is satisfied with the progress after taking stock of the situation, Secretary General of the Organising Committee Lalit Bhanot said Saturday.
Fennell, along with delegates from 71 countries, are here for the CGF General Assembly.

Bhanot said that Fennell expressed satisfaction with the preparations during continental meetings of the CGF Saturday.

“Fennell was satisfied with the progress. He said that lot of progress has been done in the last few weeks. He also hoped that the venues of the events are going to be of world standard,” Bhanot said.

Bhanot said that a detailed presentation on various aspects of the Commonwealth Games was made during the executive meeting.

“The delegates were happy with the hour-long presentation,” Bhanot maintained.
