‘Fed up’ Younis Khan set for domestic cricket stint
December 1st, 2009 - 5:16 pm ICT by ANILahore, Dec.1 (ANI): Former Pakistan captain Younis Khan, who opted out of the on going Test series in New Zealand saying he needed rest, is set to return to action in the country’s domestic circuit.
Khan would be leading Habib Bank Limited (HBL) in the ninth round of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy First Class Tournament starting December 3.
It will be his first match since withdrawing from New Zealand’s Test tour last month after Pakistan lost the one-day series against the Kiwis.
Uncertainty still hovers over Khan’s future and it is still uncertain whether he will be going to Australia for the Test series or not.
Sources close to the right-hand batsman said he is fed up with the constant in fighting in the team, and is unlikely to play in the series Down Under.
It should be mentioned that Khan had earlier announced that he is available for Australia tour.
Khan told media persons during a press conference that he has already informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) about his decision.
He , however, declined to comment on queries whether he would return to the team as captain, saying: ” It would be decided in due course of time.” (ANI)
