Fans & sponsors welcome Tiger Woods’ decision to play at the Masters

matser Florida, Mar 17 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Tiger Woods decision to make his professional comeback at the Masters in April, was welcomed heartily by his golf fraternity, fans and the sponsors. The last tournament that he had played in was the Australian Masters in Melbourne, on the 15th of November 2009. After that, his personal and professional life crashed when his wife Elin Nordegren discovered that he had been unfaithful to her, and was also having multiple affairs. As his personal life was going through turmoil, so he took a break from golf for sometime, to set it right.

The Masters begin on the 8th of April, and there is less than a month to go for them. After being out of action for so many months, Tiger Woods is practicing at Isle worth, which is near his Orlando home, since a fortnight. When this swing coach Hank Haney came over the weekend to coach him, then the speculations started that he was planning to make his comeback soon. And in a statement, he announced that he is all set to participate in the upcoming Masters tournament.

Billy Payne who is the chairman of Augusta National, and the tournament, said that, “We support Tiger’s decision to return to competitive golf beginning at this year’s Masters Tournament. Additionally, we support and encourage his stated commitment to continue the significant work required to rebuild his personal and professional life.” Tiger Woods’ major sponsor – Nike, also welcomed him back onto the golf course, and said in a statement that, “We look forward to Tiger’s return to the Masters and seeing him back on the course.”
