Fans took to the web on Thursday and Friday to express their grief on the passing away of the sportscaster who was considered the voice of the Seattle Mariners for decades. The news of his death devastated several of the fans. Considering that Dave Niehaus started his career as a sportscaster for Seattle Mariners back in 1977, several generations of baseball fans witnessed some of the great moments in the game through his commentary.

After the news of his death started to make rounds on the web, the fans have posted several heart warming messages on the official website of the Seattle Mariners. Fans have also remembered his memorable calls and posted some of his great moments from the past on the web pages. Dave Niehaus was known for his signature style of commentary that had phrases like ‘Grand Salami’ and the quintessential Dave Niehaus exclamation ‘My Oh My’.

One of the fans explained in his blog that after the death of Dave Niehaus he realized that he took his voice for granted as that of Seattle Mariners.
