Fan hatred convinced Ronaldo to move to Real Madrid

London, June 14 (ANI): Friends of Portuguese winger Cristiano Ronaldo say that he decided to move to Real Madrid because of the abuse his family and friends were being subjected to at Old Trafford on match days.

Ronaldo, 24, became disillusioned with the Old Trafford boo-boys, reports The Sun.

They never forgave him for saying he might move to the Bernabau after last season’s Champions League final victory.

The situation is believed to have come to a head during United’s home game against Aston Villa in April when Ronaldo lost possession and Villa went 2-1 up.

A source said: “Ronaldo was booed by some fans and his family and friends tried to defend him. Things got ugly because, understandably, Ronaldo’s party wanted to defend him from the abuse - some of it was well over the top.”

On Friday night Ronaldo celebrated his Madrid move with a blow out in Las Vegas.

He was spotted playing roulette at the Palms casino and hotel.

But whether lover Paris will follow him to Spain is another matter. (ANI)
