Fabricio Werdum Registers Impressive Victory Against Fedor Emelianenko

fwSan Jose, California, June 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Fabricio Werdum defeated Fedor Emelianenko on Saturday Night on Strikeforce the big show hosted in San Jose, California. There were around 12,698 crowds cheering for invincible Fedor Emelianenko who was the choice for the day as he did not lose a match in 10 years. It came as a real surprise when Fabricio Werdum won by quick TKO (1.09) against Fedor Emelianenko leaving the latter in a stage of shock.

Fabricio Werdum faced World Alliance of Mixed Martial Arts Heavyweight Champion Fedor Emelianenko on Saturday and it was an enormous victory for the former as in the first instance when the game began it seemed as if Fedor Emelianenko would win the game easily. But Fabricio Werdum with his jiu-jitsu skill locked the legendary Russian nicknamed ‘The Last Emperor’ in a triangle choke with am armbar and the latter was forced to tap out at 1.09 of the first round. After the game, however, the winner said in an interview that “Fedar always has been my idol”.

It was a big shock for veteran heavyweight fighter Fedor Emelianenko and later he said that he was concentrating on the strikes which seemed to be a “mistake” which ultimately resulted in his loss. He also added that it was a pity on his part that he disappointed his fans. This loss is considered as the first real defeat for Fedor Emelianenko. It leaves him with a record of 32-2 while for Fabricio Werdum it improves to 14-4-1. Fabricio Werdum is set to face Alistair Overeem for the Strikeforce Heavyweight Championship shortly.
