Lahore , Sept 30 (ANI): International cricket matches should not be organized during late night hours in Pakistan under the prevailing security situation in the country, former Pakistan cricket captain Zaheer Abbas has said.

Zaheer made this suggestion at a meeting of the federal sports ministry held last weekend to discuss cricket affairs. Well, my views are simple and I have told the meeting that night cricket these days is not advisable because of the security problem, the Daily Times quoted Zaheer as saying in an interview with a cricket website.

He added: My viewpoint is that in the prevailing circumstances God forbid something happens in these night matches it will lead to a lot of chaos, which would be bad for Pakistan cricket as teams are already not willing to come here.

Zaheer pointed out that one needed to be cautious in these times and cricket grounds where night matches were being played were not secure and safe. I just worry that we dont give the other teams more excuses for not coming to Pakistan . If something happens it will be very difficult for the PCB to convince teams to come, he said.

Zaheer also said he did not see the Australians remaining in India if any more bomb blasts took place there. The security that has been provided to the Australians now they appear satisfied with it. But actually they (Australians) are very much concerned about the blast in Delhi and I think if such an incident is repeated they will leave the place, he said. (ANI)
