Evan Tanner is dead.
The former UFC middle weight champion was found dead near Arizona- California border. The area is a campsite associated with where Tanner had camped before his death.
Tanner’s body was found Monday near the remote desert campsite where this former UFC middleweight champion went missing some days ago. Tanner’s body was spotted by a helicopter pilot lying on a rugged area of Imperial County near the California-Arizona border. Evan Tanner is reputed as a former Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight and a United States Wrestling Federation heavyweight champion. He has been an iconic figure. He went missing since last week causing unrest to family, friends and relatives.
Tanner was aged 37-year-old. According to his blog, he was preparing to visit the desert since he was so inspired by a trip to the dessert. The plans for this trip onset sometimes in August and was due to his fascination with the emptiness of the desert. According to his statement on the blog, Tanner is quoted saying that “I plan on going so deep into the desert, that any failure of my equipment, could cost me my life,”
Friends and family have been in contact through phones and SMS service to track and keep updated with his moves. However they lost communication with him sometimes last week sparking worries. Search and rescue crews have been looking for him since last Friday and little yielded until he was spotted by the helicopter pilot in the search party. Tanner died in a hot climate where temperatures go up high to 114.
