New York, Feb 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) ESPN has dropped Ron Jaworski from the Monday Night Football booth. For the first time in its history, ESPN will leave only two men in the booth during the MNF.

Jaworski, who recently signed a five-year-old deal with ESPN, will now concentrate on analytical works on the network. The executive vice president for programming Norby Williamson explained that, “Jaws served us well. But when we looked at everything we have, it became apparent that expanding his role on the other stuff to let him focus on all the teams, not just one game, was a better use of him.”

Jaworski has described the decision as bittersweet indicating that he understands the move of the executives. He gave some indication of what happened when the meeting was taking place.

Jaworski was engaged in meeting with Williamson for hours. he revealed that the executives gave him the option to come out with what he can do at the network. With the decision, Jaworski will now join the panels to do the pre-game analysis.

The exit of Jaworski from the booth will see only Mike Tirico and Jon Gruden discussing the game at the booth. This is the first time in 42 years that the MNF will be covered by two men.

Gruden has reacted to the news saying he will “miss” him at the booth.
