Eric Naposki is arrested for his past doings
May 22nd, 2009 - 2:37 am ICT by GD ( Leave a comment )Eric Naposki, the former NFL linebacker, who played in the late 1980s for the New England Patriots and Indianapolis Colts and his ex-girlfriend, Nanette Packard McNeal were taken into custody by the Newport Beach detectives, charging them with the murder of a rich businessman hailing from Orange County for monetary gains in the year 1994. Each of them have been charged with with one count of murder.
Both, Naposki and Nanette had been the prime suspects for gunning down the multimillionaire, William Francis McLaughlin, who was 55 at the time of his death. However, the couple were not arrested then and remained suspects for over 15 years as police had failed to find the weapon, which was a 9mm handgun that was used to gun down McLaughlin. The authorities have not yet specified the new found evidence on the basis of which the arrests have been made.
Orange County district attorney’s office spokesperson, Farrah Emami said, “We feel at this point we have sufficient evidence to prove they were responsible for the death of Mr. McLaughlin. She further added that the victim’s family deserves justice and closure for the murder of their father.
The police believe that Naposki was romantically inclined to Nanette and they shot McLaughlin six times at his Newport Beach residence, where his body was found later on.
The arrest of Naposki in Connecticut will be followed by his extradition proceedings and Nanette, who was arrested in Orange County itself is scheduled to be arranged on 22nd May, Friday.
