England will outmuscle other teams in 2010 World Cup: Ancelotti

London, Dec 24(ANI): Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti reckons that the England side has enough players to outmuscle other teams during the 2010 football World Cup in South Africa.
Ancelotti is convinced that his own trio of Frank Lampard, John Terry and Ashley Cole along with Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard and Manchester United pair of Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney will let England manager Fabio Capello to call on more world-class players than anyone including the five-time World Cup champions Brazil.
“I think England have six top players. By that I mean players who could walk into any national side. There’s my three - Lampard, Terry and Ashley Cole. Then there’s Rio Ferdinand, who’s not having a good time of it now, but who is a great defender,” The Sun quoted Ancelotti, as saying.
“Then Gerrard and I’d put Rooney in, too. Six is a lot. You’d be hard-pressed to find another country with as many in their team. Maybe Spain but Brazil definitely don’t have six of them and neither do Italy,” he added.
Capello will also have the service of midfielder David Beckham, who has reiterated that he wants to be a part of the national squad and has pledged to fill in wherever needed.
England will kick off their World Cup campaign against the USA in Rustenburg, where they are planning to have their training base, on Saturday June 12. They will then travel to Cape Town to face Algeria on June 18.
England will finish their Group C campaign against Slovenia on June 23 in Port Elizabeth. (ANI)
