The very first match of the Hockey World Cup 2010 took place between South Africa and Spain, in the National Stadium at New Delhi, with Spain emerging the winner in the final quarter of the match. England managed to win the match at a score of 3-2, with the Australians managing to hold sway for the first 20 minutes or so.
