London, Jul 1 (ANI): England footballers made fun of their strict coach Fabio Capello by calling him “Postman Pat” behind his back.

Players laughed at Capello’s resemblance to the kids’ TV character as his authority faded in the camp. But he was never within earshot, sources said.

“The resemblance to Pat was first noticed by backroom staff. It was a bit of fun, which helped relieve the boredom during the long hours the squad spent, shut away,” The Sun quoted a team insider, as saying.

“It was never uttered in front of him - I don’t think anyone would be brave enough to do that,” he added.

Football Association chief Sir David Richards will decide in a fortnight if Capello stays as England boss.

It would cost 12 million pounds in compensation to sack him, with another three million pounds for his staff. (ANI)
