England footie team ‘to be offered Viagra for World Cup games’
December 6th, 2009 - 1:21 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )London, December 06 (ANI): England’s football team may be counting on their dose of Viagra when they battle it out in the next year’s World Cup in South Africa.
Experts have recommended the soccer stars to consume sex booster capsules, since Fabio Capello’s team may have their training camp in Rustenburg, which is 4,921ft above sea level.
Also, services of sports scientist Richard Pullen have been hired by the FA to help the team with special training techniques.
“I’ll point out to the England squad the potential benefits of using Viagra for games played at altitude,” the News of the World quoted him as saying.
He added: “It’s scientifically proven that the process of how Viagra works in the body, by enlarging the blood vessels, can improve performance of some athletes.
“Also known as sildenafil, it’s been used by football teams in South America and some cyclists because it’s not a banned substance.
“I’m sure several countries at the World Cup will consider using Viagra.”
However, he explained Viagra has side effects too.
He concluded: “There can be some side effects which might adversely effect performance, such as blurred vision, headaches or flushed faces.”
England’s chief physio Gary Lewin will first analyse the recommendation, but captain Capello will have the last say. (ANI)
