July 20th, 2009 - 10:14 pm ICT by GD Tell a Friend -

ops250winnerStraight for a second year in a row, Eddie MacDonald had a dominating performance on the race circuit at the Oxford Plains Speedway; he drove like as if demons were at his heels and there was no stopping him from his deserving victory this time, at the Oxford Plains Speedway. He led the final 83 laps of the speedy race to clinch his victory of the 36th Annual TD Banknorth 250. His years of persistence on the racing tracks finally yielded the results that he had hoped for so long. MacDonald took home a cash prize of $35,200 from his win at the race.

The one who came in second was Quebec based racing veteran Patrick Laperle and John Donshue finished third. The Top 5 list was rounded up when five time ACT Tour champion Brian Hoar and the local favorite Shawn Martin came in fourth and fifth respectively.

After his win, MacDonald said in the Victory Lane, “This is awesome. I’ve got such a great team here. Rollie Lachance and his whole family, it’s just a great group of boys. Every one of them worked hard to make this happen. During six hours of practice in the last two days, they changed just about everything on the car. This is just such an awesome race to win. It is the biggest win of my career, and I can’t thank my team and sponsors enough for making it possible.”

After his defeat Laperle said, “Eddie was much better than I was in the outside groove. I was catching him for a while, but his spotter told him where I was gaining and he moved down to block. He had the best car, and ended up wining tonight. I’m happy for him, and am happy with the way we ran the whole race.”
