East Carolina’s Ben Hartman Disappoints With His Performance Against Arkansas

Memphis, Tenn., Jan 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) East Carolina University’s showdown against Arkansas on Saturday night, is surely something that Ben Hartman would like to forget. The East Carolina player gave a disappointing performance during yesterday’s clash, which enabled the Arkansas team to emerge as the ultimate winner. An overtime field goal made sure that the Arkansas team register a 20-17 victory against East Carolina, in the Liberty Bowl.
The fourth quarter of the game witnessed Ben Hartman miss field goals. However, the player’s bad luck did not just end there as he missed another field goal during overtime. Overall, the East Carolina player missed out on four attempts during the game- although all the attempts were made from the same side of the field. Ben Hartman struggled throughout the game as his attempts did not manage to deliver any results. In the first quarter, he missed a field goal for 45 yards and then with 1:03 minutes remaining, he failed to deliver again from 39 yards. Moreover, the player also failed to deliver during the final possession in overtime as he missed a field goal from 35 yards. Meanwhile, it was Arkansas player Alex Tejada’s field goal from 37 yards during overtime, which led his team to victory.
Skip Holtz, coach of the East Carolina team later termed the way things turned out for his team and at the same time Ben Hartman’s inability to deliver as ‘unfortunate’. This was East Carolina’s second straight season defeat at the Liberty Bowl, with its last loss being against Kentucky. Following the disappointing performance, Ben Hartman was not available for comments.
