Earthquake Hits Maui In The Middle Of Game

Lahaina, Hawaii, Nov 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Residents of Hawaii experienced a jolt for the second time after the coast of Hawaii was hit by a mini earthquake on Tuesday. The first time it was during the Michigan State Spartans and Connecticut Huskies match. The natural phenomena took place around 6:34 pm on Tuesday. It has been reported from the U.S. Geological Survey that the earthquake had a magnitude of 4.7.
According to sources, the earthquake took place while the game between the Kentucky Wildcats and Washington Wizards was going on at the Maui Invitational. The earthquake started while six minutes were left for the game to be over. The court side tables and chairs started to move with the shake. So did the baskets. However, the good news is that the earthquake did not result in any kind of damage, nor was any one injured. Tournament officials were seen to confirm this news. The shake occurred about 10 miles southwest of the Maui resort community of Wailea.
Washington Wizards guard Isaiah Thomas said that he literally experienced the ground beneath his feet was shaking. he added that he was not yet sure if that was an earthquake or not. No doubt, the players and every one else else present at the venue of the game were terrified and shocked. On the contrary, many people inside had failed to realize that the earthquake was actually taking place. After the news spread, many were seen to question, looking quite perplexed, that did it actually happen. Kentucky Wildcats coach John Calipari was one of the people who was seen questioning about the happening of the earthquake. Later it was reported that the earthquake was felt 100 miles away in Honolulu, lasting about for 5 seconds.
