Each and every World Cup game important for Team India, says Dhoni

Bangalore, Feb 26(ANI): Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Saturday said that his team was practicing hard and looked fresh at the prospects of each World Cup game.

India will face England in their Group B match at Bangalore’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday.

“For us what is important is each and every game. We prepare likewise whether we are playing Bangladesh, England, Australia or Ireland, because I think that is what is important rather than giving one game that extra importance,” Dhoni said.

“That is very important to have same preparation throughout the tournaments. So, I think it is an important game but at the same time preparation levels are also the same,” he added.

Dhoni further said that all his batsmen were firing, especially Virat Kohli who hit a century against Bangladesh in the tournament opener.

“Well of course it is a tough one again. But there is one big positive you see is that most of the batsmen are looking in good form. Virat Kohli is being in tremendous form in the last few series that he has played,” Dhoni said.

“It will always be tough to pick one out of the two because Yuvraj Singh has the edge of bowling left arm spin that we desperately need because we play with four bowlers. So, I think it is a difficult one and of course what we need to see is that once all these three batsmen Virat, Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina, who is also in good form, all of them starts scoring then it is a fight for the slot that means to bat on, Virat is ideally suited to bat in the top of the order.”

“May be the lowest he can go is on number four. So, it will be more of a battle of slot rather than just the individuals,” he added. (ANI)
