Dylan Meier Dies While Hiking With Family

Dylan MeierArkansas, Apr 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Former Kansas State University quarterback footballer Dylan Meier died this weekend in Arkansas while he was holidaying with his family according to reports published by different media sources. Reports claim that the 26 year-old player died while he was hiking with his family members. The tragedy occurred when the player was trying to climb a rock to have a clearer view of the scenery when he lost his grip and slipped. The player was accompanied in the trip by his brother Shad Meier and Kerry Meier, both of whom are football players.

The details of the circumstances that led to the fatal accident have not been revealed yet to the media. Neither the Kansas State Wildcats Spokesman for whom the player had once played nor the any of the family members have revealed the details of the death to the media. The family is yet to release a public statement.

The untimely death of the quarterback star has left not only his fans but also the sports fraternity shocked. Dylan Meier has remained the quarterback for the Kansas State Wildcats for four years, starting from 2002 to 2006. He started 11 games for the team at quarterback position and had played in total of 35 games for the Kansas State Wildcats. Though he was not counted among the top quarterback players, few will disagree that the player was a rising star. He had to his credit 2,287 yards and 12 touchdowns. The player had missed the 2005 season due to injury; however after his return to the team he made significant contribution to the team’s success.
