Aug 9, (THAINDIAN NEWS) On Sunday night once again one man’s poison turned out to be another man’s medicine during the Boston Red Sox’s game against The New York Yankees. Dustin Moseley who joined the New York Yankees team to fill in the position of the injured Andy Pettitte had to take to the field a day earlier replacing injured A.J. Burnett on Sunday night. However his entry helped the New York Yankees to win over the Boston Red Sox. The team went for a 7-2 victory over the Boston Red Sox.
Dustin Moseley was originally scheduled to join the New York Yankees on Monday at the Yankee Stadium however the team called him early after it scrapped A.J. Burnett from the last night’s game. The player was kept out of the field due to back spasms. However, the inclusion of Dustin Moseley proved worthy as the player provided only two runs in 6 1/3 innings. While many were skeptical about the team’s decision and were doubtful whether Dustin Moseley would be able to cope with the pressure which comes with the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox game, the player threw a near perfect game by allowing only two hits, two runs and striking out five.
Dustin Moseley deftly replaced A.J. Burnett although his way of playing is starkly different from that of the latter. Dustin Moseley’s fastball flies at a speed of 90 mph. His technique to get outs is much like Greg Maddux as he relies on control to get the players ousted. Dustin Moseley spent most of this season with the Scranton/Wilkes Barre Yankee and had managed 4-4 with a 4.21 ERA. He was called over to join the New York Yankees on July 2, 2010.
