Ducks Score With Emerson Etem

June 26, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Anaheim Ducks fans had something to cheer about in the otherwise subdued NHL Drafts on Friday. No.17 pick Emerson Etem, the speedy center from Long Island had a reputation behind him that made him arguably the fastest skater in the entire draft. He is the one pick who is expected in the Anaheim Ducks team very soon if he continues the form he had with his previous team Medicine Hat Tigers.
After being picked Emerson Etem said that his goal is to make it into the final team just like any other player. He said that he will focus on the off-season practice so that he may evaluate himself before the training camp. He said that the selection made him extremely emotional and he couldn’t be any happier. He called the Anaheim Ducks the perfect platform for him to prove himself.
With his pick a huge cheer went up at the Staples Center on Friday. Later Emerson Etem revealed that he had a lot of family members in the stands to cheer him. About the aspects in his game that he will focus on, Emerson Etem said that he will try to create offense out of defense and also improve his defensive zone play and finishing his checks.
Emerson Etem was the second of the Anaheim Duck’s pick in the first round of the NHL Drafts on Friday. The No.12 pick for the side was Cam Fowler who slipped from the No.3 but was still happy to be picked by the Anaheim Ducks. He is touted as a prototypical puck-handling defense-man who excels at running a power play.
