London, May 9 (ANI): Captain Didier Drogba has resolved to bring home the prized Premier League title by leading his team, Chelsea FC to victory.
He wants to wrest it from traditional rivals Manchester United who have been champions for the past three years.
He hopes to usher back the halcyon days of his team which enjoyed a successful run at the EPL for two-years before Man U entered the picture.
The Blues have been smarting over the recurring wins ofManchester United.
“It wasn’t nice seeing Manchester United win it time after time,” admitted Drogba.
“But this is football. They have shown the quality needed. Now, we have the chance to change that, but, we can’t just talk about it. We have to do it. For us, and our fans, this is very, very important, so we will not relax at all. We will show more focus than ever to finish the job and show our quality. It’s still very tight. Nothing is sure, nothing is secure, so we have to win our final game and not leave anything to chance,” an impassioned Drogba told the News of the World.
“The best way to do that is to show our quality again, like we did at Liverpool last week. We won at Old Trafford, we won at Anfield, now we have to show our quality on the pitch one more time,” he said, reflecting his steely resolve and confidence.
United can stop Chelsea winning the title if they defeat Stoke at Old Trafford and the Blues fail to beat the Latics at Stamford Bridge.
The bookies are placing their money on Chelsea, making them 14-1 to win the title. (ANI)
