Chennai, July 4 (IANS) Two Chennai-based veterans, Krishnan Rajini (Red Rooster Racing) and Sriskandarajah (Moto-Rev India), completed a double apiece in the second round of the FMSCI-Sidvin National Racing Championship for two-wheelers here Sunday.

Rajini’s victory in the Super Stock (600cc) class was all the more creditable since he was on a virtually ancient Yamaha R6 with a creaking suspension. As was the case Saturday in the first race, Rajini virtually destroyed the field in the second outing.

Sriskandarajah, in the Group B Experts category, though pushed all the way, drew upon his vast experience to hold back his challengers while giving another polished performance.

The two races made for come gripping viewing on a day that began rather ominously when Race Director Farhan Vohra, flipped the SUV safety car on the outlap exiting the Bridge Complex.

Fortunately, Vohra escaped virtually unhurt though the SUV suffered heavy damage as it rolled twice after one of the rear tyres exploded.

Group B (4 Strokes, up to 165cc, Experts) 6 laps: Sriskandarajah (Moto-Rev India) 1 (12:29.831); S Sarath Kumar (Ten10 Racing) 2 (12:29.985); K Jagan (TVS Racing) 3 (12:37.076).
