Hodges drove steadily to win the opening two races of the day and finished second in the day’s concluding race to move to 36 points on the leaderboard behind 15-year-old Vikash Anand (42 points). Meanwhile, K. Vinoth, who won both the races Saturday, is in third spot with 28 points.
Giving credit to his racing engineers, Hodges, the 22-year-old graduate, said: “This was the main reason that I was able to win today. It is not about skill alone to get on top. It is a matter of coordinating the car and the skills.”
Anand, a 10th standard student of the AMM School in Chennai said: “I had driven in the same event last year. This year I am able to do better mainly because of the car set up.”
