Hobart, Dec.23 (ANI): Close on the heels of the on-field altercations between West Indies spinner Suleiman Benn and Australian batsmen Brad Haddin and Mitchell Johnson during the third Test match at the WACA, Pakistan bowling coach Waqar Younis has called on his players to be aggressive, but without crossing the limit.

Younis said spectators always love to watch intense and aggressive cricket, but players should not indulge in, what he termed as ‘dirty’ things on the field.

“In a way it is nice to see because you want to see aggressive cricket, and you want to see positive cricket and people wanting to win the game. As long as it is not dirty, that is what you to want to see,” Younis told a foreign news agency.

It may be noted that Benn was suspended for two ODIs for his involvement in a mid-pitch physical altercation with Haddin and Johnson in the first innings of the third Test at WACA Ground in Perth.

Benn received the suspension from International Cricket Council (ICC) match referee Chris Broad, who said the fiery spinner’ s on-field conduct on day two in Perth was ‘totally unacceptable.’

Broad also fined Haddin 25 per cent of his match fee for bringing the game into disrepute, while Johnson received a 10 per cent fine for the same offence.

Benn was suspended and the Aussies escaped suspension as the former was slapped with a more serious level-two charge. (ANI)
