Donovan McNabb Traded To Washington Redskins

donovanWashington, Apr 5, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The six time Pro-Bowl quarterback Donovan McNabb for the Philadelphia Eagles, who played a crucial role in many games for the team, was traded to the Washington Redskins on Sunday. The Philadelphia-Eagles in return got two draft picks. While the Philadelphia -Eagles will get one draft pick on the second round of draft pick this season, the other draft according to reports, will be picked up from either the third or the fourth round pick in 2011 draft season.

Donovan McNabb has been playing for the Philadelphia-Eagles for the last eleven years and is considered a veteran in the game. In the Washington Redskins, Donovan McNabb will likely take the position of offense which was till now tackled by Jason Campbell. Jason Campbel has in last season failed to show a consistency and had not performed up to the mark.

On Sunday after the trade, the coach of Philadelphia-Eagles, Andy Reid reportedly said that the trade was a tough decision to make. However, during a news conference Andy Reid mentioned to the media that the decision was taken keeping in mind the prospect of the player and also of the team. The coach wished the player all the luck in his new team. According to reports, it was being speculated for some time now that Donovan McNabb will be traded as the Philadelphia-Eagles finished 11-5 in the last season but could not manage to get through the first round of the playoffs. After announcing the trade, Andy Reid mentioned that the new starter for the Philadelphia-Eagles team will be Kevin Kolb.
